Outline

This program was run by Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, and a newspaper company, Sankei Shimbun. The objective of this program is to gain an interest and concerns towards environment and energy issue for children who will lead the next generation. Members of WiN-J contributed this program as energy teachers.

During the activities, both type of children living in power station-site area and energy-consumption area interact with each other and learn about both aspects of producing and using energy in order to understand the importance of nuclear energy for the future.

<West Japan 2008>

  • Shimane Prefecture, Matsue city (July 29th -30th)
    64 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Matsue city and Kinki region
  • Fukui Prefecture, Reinan region (August 24th-25th)
    58 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Reinan region and Kinki region
  • Osaka Prefecture, Osaka city (November 23rd-24th)
    All 122 children participated above event

<East Japan 2008>

  • Fukushima Prefecture, Futaba district (July 25th-26th)
    59 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Futaba district and Metropolitan area
  • Niigata Prefecture, Kashiwazaki city (August 20th-21st)
    58 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Kashiwazaki city, Kariwa village and Metropolitan area
  • Tokyo (September 6th-7th)
    115 children participated above event
  • Hokkaido Prefecture, Iwau region (August 5th-6th)
    55 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Iwau district and Sapporo city
  • Sapporo city (September 27th-28th)
    All 55 children participated above event

    60 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Matsue city and Kinki region
  • Ehime Prefecture, Ikata town (August 21st-22nd)
    60 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Ikata town and Kinki region
  • Fukui Prefecture, Reinan region (August 24th-25th)
    60 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Reinan region and Kinki region
  • Osaka Prefecture, Osaka-city (November23rd-24th)
    All 180 children participated above event

<East Japan 2007>

  • Nigata Prefecture, Kashiwazaki-city (October20th-21st)
    54 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Kashiwazaki city, Kariwa village and Metropolitan area
  • Fukushima Prefecture, Tomioka town (November3rd-4th)
    61 children from grade 4-6 were gathered from Futaba district and Metropolitan area
  • Tokyo (December8th-9th)
    All 115 children participated above event
